Default Two versions

Which do you like better?

SOOC
boat SOOC

HDR
boat HDR

• The HDR version is a single exposure processed in Nik Software's HDR Efex Pro.
• The B&W conversion was created in Lightroomt then I brought the image into Photoshop and used FocalPoint 2 to achieve the soft glowy outer edges.

I vote 2 simply because it has more detail but it is inching close to over processed. If you want the B&W one to work I would recommend boosting your blacks since they don't have much punch in the photo its more like shades of gray than it is B&W

Just my opinion though.

+1

I actually think the HDR is over done. It's too crunchy and it hurts my eyes a little, but the SOOC is too plain. Oddly the thing that seems to have been touched the least by the HDR is the boat which, correct me if I'm wrong, is the focus.

I don't feel there's enough contrast in the b/w to justify it, and the b/w's blurry. How did that happen?

And an excellent opinion I might add. After uploading the image I noticed it needs more punch too. Maybe its a good thing the mods deleted it when they moved the thread.
Thanks Cola for responding!

Funny, the HDR version got the most votes! Yes I agree, the b/w isn't there yet. I need to work on it more. Thanks for the comments!

Oh yeah, totally voted for 2 as well.

Definitely the best of the three. I haven't braved HDR myself, so more power to you!
