Default Swan Lake

I recently took these two photos of swans while visiting my parents in PA. I didn't do much as far as post production, but was curious which composition between the two is stronger? I like the position of the two swans in the first photo (they almost seem to be caring for each other) the second photo however seems to be stronger. I would love any input others might have. Additionally, any thoughts on ways to improve one/both photos.
I would like to mat/frame one and give it to my parents.

Both photos were compressed to 800px wide.
