Default how to fram this

Hi

I took a photo of a gallery window at an angle so that the reflection of the people across the street was the main element of the photo. But you can also see one of the pieces inside the gallery that is spot lit. One crop includes the frame of the window so you know exactly what you are looking at and the other is more obscure but hopefully artistic (which is what I was hoping for). Which looks better?

regards
Shane

Umm, to be very frank, it looks like two unrelated photos superimposed on each other. There is nothing here that gives the impression that I am looking at a reflection in a window glass. Maybe you should have pulled back further to include more of the window frame, so that the viewer has a point of reference.

However, if your goal is to be artistic (which can mean anything, depending on your POV), I'd probably pick the first one, as the right part of the image in the second is more a distraction than a useful element.

Have to agree with Stryker, looks like 2 superimposed images. But I do kinda dig the abstraction! I like the first version better, where the text on the window is still visible... gives the viewer a little clue that they are looking at a reflection.

I prefer the first image myself and like the fact that it was done naturally without the need to superimpose the image. The black and white gives it a classic look, well done.

.
Hi Stryker, there are 2 images and the contains the window frame and the name of the gallery written on the glass. Perhaps you only looked at one image.

Ah, you seem to have misunderstood what I said. I meant that each photo looks like two images (one of the people across the street and one of the exhibit in the window with the gallery name) which have been merged together in Photoshop or some other program. That was my first impression on seeing the image.

I like the second one with the name on the window, it tells a story. Don't know anything about the 'artistic' angle so I really can't contribute to that
