Default Night of Day Shot?

Hi everyone! I took this shots during my vacation a couple of weeks back. First I took the day photo, then I went back to it at night and took the second shot, at night. I was really surprised with the results for the night shot. The colors were very nice I thought.
Please critique the following things. Which one do you like best? Does the composition look good? On the night shot, could I have used ISO 400 with a longer exposure to get less noise or it wouldn't work?

Thank you for your feedback.

Marcelo, since they are not exactly the same, it is difficult to critic, the second one has at the bottom the edge of the swiming pool which is helping with the yellow color,
IMO the first one looks better for the backgroung with clouds.
Thanks Art

Yes, they are really not the same, but almost! Yes, the clouds look very nice. The night shot made the sky gray, which I didn't like but the other colors make up for it, I Think.

Thanks for the feedback!

I prefer the second image for both color and composition.

The first image would have been better if composed more like the second. I don't think the bottom of the pool works. I believe you were trying to get the umbrella reflection which IS nice and good thinking. But taken when the sun was a little lower and the shadows/reflections longer would have allowed the composition of the second image AND capturing of the reflections.

You could have used a wider aperture and a lower ISO to capture the same scene with the same exposure time... I don't think there was any need to be at f/13

I find the yellow in the second to be too commanding of attention in the bottom one, and the bottom third of the top photo uninteresting. Get rid of it (the bottom third of the first photo) and I think you have your shot.
