Default question about color/saturation?

007_edited-1

canon eos xs
manual mode
ISO 100
f/5
shutter 1/125
flash fired

Ok so the first picture I used the auto adjustment in adobe photoshop. The second picture I just tweaked a bit with hue and saturation in adobe photoshop. I did so because I thought the first picture looked greenish. But I think the second looks reddish. So first of all what do you all think? Second of all if your settings are all set correctly should you even have to adjust all this? This and any other critique welcome. Received excellent feedback already on a diff. picture from this shoot Thanx for looking!

i think something inbetween would be nice. the top one is extremely sharp, it does well for the hair, but im not sure i like the huge contrasting on the cheeks and yeah, the wall in the back is warmer in the second picture.. the second picture is a little flat, it gives her face some more softness. her eyes are really nice in the first one. If I had to pick from these two, i'd go with the first one because i personally prefer sharp and saturated vs unsharp and unsaturated...

try going for soemtihng inbetween though...

Throw one photo on top of the other in layers. Then change the opacity of the top photo to blend the two together. You can try different opacities to find the one that looks the most pleasing. Then you can ether flatten the image or, select all > copy merged > paste, to create a new layer that has the two combined with opacity of your choice.
