it's a great photo with great angle. I love it.
I actually like the original better, you've used too much saturation in your edit and gave her a red face that doesn't look natural. what I'd try to do is lower the exposure and brightness in photoshop for selected areas like the left of her face and add contrast to the entire photo. it would have came out way better a few hours later in the day, but there's nothing you can do about it now

Thanks for the feedback MrJones. Lowering the exposure to only bits of the picture is a bit beyond me at the moment but I've grabbed a book and as time permits I'll get my head around layers.
I should go back out to the location as it would be a bit greener now after some rain we've had and maybe the contrast between more greeny grass and the track would look cool. Cheers for your help. |

Hi,
Love the composition of this image, like the way her arms are echoed in the slope of the hills behind and I like the contrast of the colours of her clothing to the natural background. However I think the light is too harsh - wrong time of day, as you know ![]() If you are going to go back out to do it again try it later in the day when the light is more angled and softer. Also if you stand her more side on to the sun instead of facing almost directly on she won't have to squint as much. Also, try bending your knees a little when taking the photo so its from her level or slightly lower, this will change the amount of earth & sky in your background though so make your own call on that. Look forward to seeing your lovely daughter again!

I think this images has some nice life in it and is worth trying to save. I threw it into Photoshop and with curves made the light tones a little darker and kept the dark tones about the same, and then brought down the color saturation (Image> Adjustment>Hue Saturation) and it looked a lot better. I don't have a way of posting online right now, but if you can give it a try, I think you will like it much better.
