Default kids at a corfu wedding

i posted the first shot on share photos. but decided it didn,t come across as a portrait , more like a snapshot. i selected the ties and removed colour from the rest of the image. does this work better?? i have not got exif info with me at the moment as the original image is on another pc but i will include it later. i was just looking for your thoughts. this is still a work in progrss. but your thoughts for now please. inthe original post i also mentioned about the cropping. does this work ? does anyone have any other suggestions for pp-ing.
thanks for your input

I like where your going in the second one, but the ties don't have enough color to pull off the effect. You could enhance the color in pp, but right now the full color (first) one is more interesting to me.

The focus is too soft- the eyes need to be in focus but i agree that the all color one is better!
