I like the first one better. IMO the glasses look appear clearer since the background is so light. But they are both quite good and it took a few moments to pick a favorite.

Thanks, Brittany. That helps. Funny, but at first I preferred #2 because I liked the deeper tones and the "mood". But then I found myself preferring #1 because of its brightness. It seems that bright and somewhat overexposed photos are in vogue right now, so I thought maybe I was swayed by that. I appreciate your feedback. Thank you again. -- Lisa

Hi again, Brittany. I just sent you a request to be a contact. Sounds like we're in similar positions -- eager to learn and grow with photography. I'm 48, living near Sacramento, CA... and have been interested in photography since childhood but never really pursued it. For some reason, it's really speaking to me lately and I can't get enough in the way of tips and critique. Maybe we can be critique buddies outside this forum if you're interested?

Not sure why, but I prefer the first also. Maybe because of the variation in color and lighter shades. But as you can tell from the comments, it's basically personal preference. Did you drink the martini's before the shots or did you enjoy one after?

Pitrih, I appreciate the feedback. Maybe I'll play with lowering the brightness on the first phot.
And Lee... no martini's that day! I would photographed my wine glasses but *they* were all dirty! :-) |
