Default Which composition?

Which crop do you like better for the picture? Or do you have another suggestion? I am torn. Flickr makes them look more exposed than iPhoto, so I think they look a little washed out.

I prefer the second shot. I don't think that the empty space in the first one adds a whole lot in this case. So the second one, your eye is really drawn to the flower, whereas in the first one I find my eye drawn to the bright cement. I don't find it looks too overly washed out. Bright, yes, but not really washed out. But that's probably somewhat screen dependent.

Definitely go with the second crop. As already said, your eyes go directly to the flower instead of the cement.

the second one's better. I would love to see a little more of the right space to give the flower a room to breath.
