I did a shoot the other day, my first time shooting kids, hooray! It was a lot of fun.
I was editing through some of the photos and I found that I liked to de-saturate them for a little but of on older feel. I attached two copies of the same photo, one at regular saturation and one that I've toned down. Which looks better? How can i improve on the de-saturated one? Did I go too far or not far enough with it? I'd appreciate any of your helps and comments! thanks! ![]() ISO: 100 Focal Length: 75mm Shutter: 1/160 F-stop: 4.0 Last edited by HillHavenStudio; 05-25-2010 at 09:41 PM. |

Lovely shot, but I think you've got yourself a personal preference kind of thing. I like them both. The lighter one has a bit of an antique look... I'll be anxious to see what the other responses are.

My preference is always for bright colors, but you have really changed my preference.
The lighter pic brings out the subjects as the brightness of the sunlight on the grass in the background are subdued.... It makes the viewer focus on the subjects and forget the background.... My vote goes to the lighter one.... Very nice pics...

Thanks so much! I think I preferred the lighter one too, I just wanted to get some other people's opinions on it.
PraZ, I am honored to have been able to sway your preference, if only for this one shot! |
