black and white baseball or color

This is a baseball that I found that was ripped up by a lawnmower. Is it better in color or black and white?
I prefer the look of the black and white, but I don't like how it makes it a little more confusing what the focal point is.
Both have contrast added in photoshop and the black and white version has the reds darkened a little.

Settings: Shutter Speed: 1/500, Aperture: f/5.6, ISO 100, lens at 85mm (135 with the crop sensor)

Id go colour on it. Id also try one where the red stitching is the only colour in the shot.
