Default Light or dark?

I can't decide which one is better. Also please critique in general - is this even a "worthy" photo? Is it confusing that the sink counter takes up the whole bottom of the photo?
I love the expression on her face, so I'm not sure if I'm forcing it too much, or if it really is a good shot.

Thanks.

Another cute shot.

It's the light one for me, in fact, you could probably go even lighter towards a high-key look, which will really draw attention to her dark eyes.

The tissues and pile of magazines are a bit of a distraction, I would be tempted to try a square crop for something different and to get rid of these.

It's a pity her head wasn't just that little bit higher so her mouth wasn't cut off, but I don't suppose she was really posing for you

Thanks for the response. Here's what I came up with using your advice:

Hiding-Light-Crop

I'm not so sure about it though, I kinda liked that it wasn't a close-up and I'm afraid it looks overexposed. Although it does bring out her dark eyes like you said. What do you think? You're right that it wasn't a pose, just a lucky shot.

its a cute shot but I think your best bet in this case is to look for another opportunity to take some more images.
