Default Old Painting Effect

Before

After

Thought I would mess around with textures to take an ordinary photo and make it seem more special. What do you think...

Thanks

I really like this and think it works very effectively.......The only distraction for me is that the upper left corner is much darker than the rest of the background and almost gives it a smudge appearance....It would look better if it were consistent with the rest of the background

I agree with Patrick regarding the top left hand corner, but otherwise it looks awesome! Love it!

Thanks for the Comments. I shifted the background, I think it looks better now, don't you?

I think it's terrific! The 2nd edit does work better. Great job. You had an excellent photo to start with; color and focus were spot-on.

You've done a great job masking the horse from the original photo. While it looks good I think it has somewhat unnatural feel to it. Probably because we're not used to see horses on that kind of environments.

I like the concept of making animal portraits in a similar fashion to human portraits, i.e. with a "false" background. The thing that makes this a bit of a miss is that the lighting still obviously comes from the sun (above, harsh shadows), so there is a disconnect with the background.

Still, I think she blended it as best she could and I wouldn't doubt that the horse's owner would like this for their wall.
