In the SOOC she's too green and in the edit she's too red/orange/yellow. Did you shoot this in RAW?
It also looks like the focus fell on her arm - her face and eyes are really soft. It's also kind of an awkward crop. Beautiful model and great location!

I did shoot in Raw. Lighting conditions were a bit difficult. I would have shot later in the day, but she was heading on a plane out of Hawaii a few hours later. She just flew in for the weekend.
Do you think this is a bad photo? I am just starting out, and I feel like all my pictures are bad. I made some adjustments for white balance for the photo. Is this better? ![]() Also, I have some photo's where a strap on her dress is showing, but I don't know how to remove it. Any help? Sorry guys, I just want her to be happy!

your second edit looks much better in terms of color. you can still improve this by selecting the face which is a bit soft, with the quickmask and using a soft paintbrush. brush the face and exit the quick mask to make the selection. use unsharp filter set to 32 amount and 0.7 radius. then deselect. the next thing is to use the magic wand set to 30 tolerance and click the add to selection button. click on all the washed out areas (the pebbles around her and the water on the top left corner then press Ctrl/J to put them in another layer and set the blending mode to multiply. this will darken, add details to the areas. flatten.
regarding the straps, you can just use the rubber stamp tool. Last edited by edbayani; 03-30-2010 at 12:11 AM. |
