Default Too Blue?

Hi all, this is my son Sam. I took this earlier in the week, and know full good and well that the first one is way too blown out. However thanks to the power of Raw, I have done a lot of work in Aperture to bring the colors back and such. I really like his expression, but am not sure if I brought too much blue into the background or other work that makes it look too processed. I also know that there is some fringing that no matter how long I mess with it, I cannot seem to get it exact- (around his hair, and on his left shoulder there are some places I am still bothered with)

Any suggestions or criticisms welcome (of my photography or processing) criticizing Sam would be, well, fighting words

thanks

I really like the blue! it makes his eyes really bright and happy! I( would keep the blue but i also agree that the shoulder area is a little off. I wish i had some great advice but im a beginner!

Definitely too blue. The sky and his eyes look very unnatural. Just a slight bump in the blue saturation would do it.
