Default Roundabout vs Roundabout

I did these in photomatix, an exposure fusion vs a HDR and wondered which one you preferred...

Exposure Fusion

Roundabout #2

HDR

Roundabout

They look better large I think (click on them for larger size)

Nice work on both but being a fan of hdr, I like the second one and the way the detail is brought out, especially in his jeans and the top of the roundabout.

For me, the first one worked better. The intense colours, especially the red of the rail was refreshing. Also the face was more vivid. Very good picture all in all!

I prefer the first one over the second because I think the colours seem more normal. I think it's a great shot though regardless of which PP treatment you pick.

A great shot, good to see big kids having fun!

I'm with Nicole, the colours in the first shot seem more natural to me, so I would go with that one. That said, I also like the detail brought out by the HDR in the bottom of the 2nd image.

Your shot inspired me to drag my boys out to the park, but suddenly I've realised, I don't know ANY parks in Sydney that still have a roundabout

For me it's defenitly the first one. It looks natural and colorful. Just like a real world pic.

The hdr lacks global contrast, I think best seen at the jeans.(His knees are illuminated just the same way his bottom is) For me this doesn't work out well....

But only my five cents.

And anyway a great idea and a admirable shot you did!

Cool shot, great idea.
On first glance I liked the second one, but on closer inspection I think his face looks too pale (motion sickness ) and the jeans look weird (as explained better by hifigraz). I do like the reflection on the roundabout, but overall I think the first is better.

I like the first one better, but both are great. The color in the first one just pops more.
