![]() I'm not sure which of those two photos I like more. I like the colours of the left photo, but I also like the contrasty look of the right photo. The right photo also makes her eyes come out better, and I've got the feeling the highlights are more in control. Which edit do you like better? And most importantly: why? If you want to know how I took this photo, check out this post in the "How I Took It" forum.

I actually think the contrast is better in the left photo. To me, that one just 'pops' a lot more. Also, with this kind of gritty photo, you normally want harsher lighting and more contrast, which you have in the left photo, so my vote is there on all counts.

Thanks for your feedback Matt. The left photo was actually my first edit, so I'm happy that I got it right on the first go

I love the contrast in the one on the left as it pops but it feels kind of 'staged' if you know what I mean. The one on the right does more for me in what you were trying to convey. With the contrast and lighting when I saw it I immediatly thought of Hannibal Lecter. Love the vibe it gives off. Great work!

I liked the first one, it is more intense and the hair looks shiny and natural not to mention the skin tone.
In the second the eyes are definately better, but otherwise it has lost some of the intensity. The difference is not really that big. Had you worked more on the right hand photo, then the subject and story might change more dramatically. In the first one I see a living human being, a girl, who has fun pretending to be a vampyre. If you would subdue the colours and lessen the intensity of the second one a little more, so that skin would loose its human tones, then I might see a living dead, from the other world. . |
