30 years of San Diego Comic-Cons, baby. My one regret is that I started attending the year after Tezuka was guest of honor.

Of course, my collection is as nothing to my comic book fangirl sensei's. I once watched Maggie Thompson (editor in chief of the CBG) flip through a box of 1950s Donald Duck comics, and she just took one look at the cover, and said, "That's Barks." Then at the next one, and said, "And that's Walt Kelly." They just looked like Donald Duck comics to me. Then she pointed at the whorls on the end of a log, and by golly, I did indeed see that it was a Walt Kelly Pogo-ish log. She never ceases to amaze me.
