In several places is a good solution. Ideally you need to go further than that though. Long term storage can see small errors creep into the data as the storage medium degrades. You can't avoid that but you can spot if it has happened by creating a checksum for each file. You then need to routinely check each of your archive locations and pick out any files that now show a different checksum result, replacing them with copies that are correct and also starting to monitor that drive more frequently (ergo, read/write backup devices like hard drives are better than read only ones, like fixed CDs and DVDs).
