I have for 500€ (755,85 US$):

Eos 1000D with 18-55 non IS

and for 600€ (907.02 US$) these cameras:

EOS 450D with 18-55 IS

taking in consideration that will be my first DSLR what is your advise ??

The 450D (XSI) is slightly newer and more advanced and, while IS on a kit lens isn't a huge factor, it's well-worth having for a beginner.

Minor correction: the XSi/450D is an older model than the XS/1000D. The XSi/450D was announced in January of 2008, while the XS/1000D was announced in June of that year.

The other points stand: the XSi/450D is more advanced, and the difference in image quality between the IS and non-IS kit lenses is (at least by reputation) huge.

thanks for the answers.

the only reason that i put the 450D (xsi) is for the IS lens, other ways, I had already chose the 1000D (xs). its cheaper and the IQ is more than enough to A3 print.

For some reason the 1000D here in Portugal doesn't come with the 18-55mm IS kit lens it comes with a 18-55mm II non IS
