Default Canon 7D

I just returned from Thailand and it was the 1st time I have extensively used the New Canon 7D. Have been a 40D user, I had been waiting for the upgrade, passing over the 50D and holding off on the 5D mark II to see what Canon would come up with next.

I have to say that I'm really impressed with the 7D, Image quality, Speed, ease of use and the Newly revised AF system and the Dual Digic 4 processors as well as the 100% coverage view finder aside, this is one Tough Camera.

My 2nd day in Thailand, I had taken the camera with a Canon 70-200mm f/4 L IS, USM lens to the golf course, for the many Beautiful birds I saw the day before. Well as luck would have it, the birds must have heard I was coming and disappeared.

When I returned home, carrying my camera and a golf bag, I set the camera on a table by the front door and commenced to unlock the door. You guessed it, I bumped the camera with my golf bag and down it went, hitting the Tile floor with a sicking sound that I was sure meant my new Camera and lens were trashed.

Amazingly, even though the Memory card door poped open, the camera was fine, not a scratch on it and it sitll works perfectly, even the lens is working fine, although the lens did bend a little, at the joint between the lens attachment and the barrell, I'm hopeing that the Canon service center can fix that.

So an amatures review of the camera I know, but Just wanted to say this is one Tough Camera!!!

Sorry to hear about the spill your camera took but I'm glad to see someone else's photos from the 7D!

I love my 7D and I too love the image quality! I also love the 19 point focus system and I haven't had any problems with it at all!

Hope your lens is fixable!

Cheers!
