Canon PowerShot SD940

Looking at getting a point and shoot for my wife, because she does not like using the SLR all that much. I am pretty sure I am going to go with the Canon PowerShot SD940. Just wanted to know if anyone here has used it yet. She will pretty much be using it for just shots of my son or our pets, so the 4x zoom should be fine. I want something that has good image quality and not much shutter lag when shooting. I was also considering the touch screen camera as another option so any reviews of that one would also be great.

The SD980 has a touch-screen: I'd be tempted to stump up the extra $20? for it.
