Default T1i at night

sorry, for some reason the search function isn't working for me so...

I was wondering if the t1i takes good photos at night? I'm planning on buying my first dslr but I don't know which to choose (within the $900 price range). Also if you can suggest a better camera within this price range, please do.

The T1i (and Nikon D5000, equivalent) are both very good at higher ISO levels, though I have to say that the D5000 does a better job with them.

What kind of night shooting did you have in mind? If youre throwing it on a tripod and leaving it at base ISO, you wont have a problem with any dSLR. If you plan on shooting hand-held with higher ISOs, then I'd go the D5000 route

I'm going to take all of my pictures hand-held. I was looking at the D5000 as well and it seems like it has more features for environment settings but everything else seems to be better for the T1i. I'm not going to take all of my pictures at night. I'm planning to use this camera for regular every-day photos to replace my other digital camera.
