I would like to know of other camera manufacturers whose lenses are fully compatible (maybe with a converter) with EOS dslrs. I've heard of people using Nikkor lenses with EOS cameras. I've wondered what other manufacturers lenses will work. My reason for asking is that I'm needing a second camera, but would like to be able to share lenses, if at all possible, even if it's a one-way share.

Lenses to Fit Canon EOS at B&H
There are a few different manufacturers. Bower, Sigma, Tamron, and many other lenses can be used with adapters. |

With adapter rings:
Your two best sources of information on this stuff are the mflenses.com forum, and the Fred Mirand Alt. Gear forum. Here's the chart I use to determine which mounts can be adapted to what. (I found it on mflenses.com).

If you're one of the mount-ripper guys, you can also DIY up a way to engage the aperture control tab on the lens, but it's more than your average shooter wants to take on.Or, you can just shoot with the lens wide open all the time. For some lenses, this isn't such a problem (e.g., 35/1.8). One of the guys on Fred Miranda jokingly suggests that if you really want to use the 14-24 on full frame that bad, you should get the ultimate adapter: a D700.
