Default Thanks Bail

A heartfelt thanks for this information. Worked like a charm. I was curious how you determined where to look in the raw file. Is the raw file layout documented somewhere?

When I download images to my computer, it gives them a name such as "IMG_6514.jpeg". Is this the same as number of actuations?

It depends For me, it's not the same because for a while I had my camera set to reset the numbering after I deleted the images. So, if you've done that, then the number probably isn't the same as your shutter actuations. My shutter actuation count is about 1500 higher than the file number I get on my photos.

No, I don't think I've reset the numbering (I didn't even know you could do that) so I guess that would be my actual count.

Thumbs down It doesnt work well

Dear writer,

I tried this software you mentioned, then when I use three raw images that just took, the number stated were all the same. It does not increase e.g. number 1 then 2 then 3.
it means this software cant tell you the precise actuation number of your shutter count.

PS. I am using Canon EOS 30D with the latest firm ware 1.06 if Im not mistaken.
Grateful further advise.

Can anyone tell me if this works for the Canon T2i? I just got it today but it's a 2nd hand, and I'd like to know what the remaining lifespan on it. TIA

Default Shuttercount program for Canon EOS

I `ve found a short program to reveal the actual shuttercount on EOS DSLR camera`s.

astrojargon - EOSInfo

1 download
2 install
3 connect camera with usb cable
4 set camera powerswitch "on"
5 run program

and here a list of the shutterlife for EOS camera`s

http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/re...ssage=33148036

I hope to be helpful with this.
