Smile Need help with lenses

I am an amateur and still learning but recently bought an EF 100mm f/2.8 macro and am in love. I cannot believe the IQ! With that said, now I want more lenses!! But I want professional advice on what to buy next. Money is a concern and can't spend more than about $500 right now. I will likely use ebay to save a buck.

I am going to Iceland again and want a good lens for landscape. I assume a wide angle might be good. But what about a zoom lense starting at 17 mm?

I also want a lens for taking low light pics and have heard mixed reviews of the 50mm f/1.8 II, I know the 1.4 is probably better, but is it that much better? The price of the 1.8 is attractive.

Finally, I am looking for a nice walk around lens that does not compromise on quality. I am looking at the 28-135mm bc it has a good price tag.

Any feedback you guys can share is greatly appreciated!!!

I am also quite new to all this and just bought a Canon 50mm f/1.8 a few days ago...and it really is an excellent lens for the price. I have never used the f/1.4 and perhaps it is worth three times the price of the f/1.8. However being so new to photography I doubt I would have the skills yet to really make the most of it. For now the f/1.8 will be a fantastic learning tool for me.

Even if down the road I invest in the f/1.4, the f/1.8 is at such an excellent price point that I can't see regretting the purchase. They call it the Nifty Fifty for a reason....

As for a walk-around lens, I am still using the kit 18-55mm II IS and am very happy with it.

I'd suggest a tripod and shutter release instead. Use your 18-55.

Agreed. Instead of buying cheaper glass which probably won't have better IQ than your kit lens (assuming that it's the 18-55 IS), I'd invest a good tripod and ball head which you can use for a long time with the lenses you will buy in the future with the money you didn't use on a cheap lens. You have a medium telephoto with the 100mm, and good wide to short tele with the 18-55. If you had unlimited funds,I'd give different advice, but this is the best way to get you on your trip and within your budget.
