Question HELP: Problem with 50D?

Hey, I just bought a 50D second hand and everything is fine EXCEPT:

When I take an image the AF points used appear superimposed in red boxes on the image!

I've searched menus etc but can't find anything - can anyone please help?

It's a custom function that has to be enabled/disabled if I remember correctly. It's on quite a few Canon cameras. You'd have to go through the manual to find it.

Thanks for the quick reply - I've trawled through all the custom functions but haven't found the right one... I don't have a manual but I found one online: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/lit_files/80.pdf - however none of the custom functions described in the manual seem to describe what I'm referring to. Any extra help would be much appreciated...

Do you mean when you are viewing the photo (in camera)? This can be disabled via the menu button. Press menu then toggle over to the 4th box (the 2nd blue one with a sideways triangle) then go to the 2nd title down AF Point Display hit enter then select disable.

hope that helps.
