It might take more than one or two blows to get it off: if you do have to get a contact-clearner, I'd suggest you have someone do it.

i've huffed and i've puffed but that little guy is still very much there.
i will try again though before moving on to another solution...

I would be hesitant to use a lens pen on the sensor (actually it's the sensor filter)... it might be a bit of "grit".

my friend also experience the same problem before with Canon 1100d (i think it's common on camera without automatic cleaning), set to manual cleaning to lift the mirror then we use a lens blower, hold the camera where the lens mount pointing down so the dust will fall out of the camera not inside of the camera, after 10 seconds of blowing no marks of spot on the images.

tried that a few times last night, but will give it another go again today.
