Default Powershot SX150

I was wondering if anyone had a suggestion about the noise this camera produces? At an ISO of 80 and great light there is still a disturbing amount of noise in the photo. Is there something I can do to reduce this?

Care to show us an example?

My guess would be that maybe you're underexposing.

This one pic probably not the best example. The 2nd one is a 200% crop.

A) Don't look at images at 200%. 100% is already pushing it
B) That's not that objectionable for a high-res compact, even at base ISO.
C) Don't look at images at 200%

Feel free to show us another view at 100% and you'll see a colossal difference right there. Remember, 200% means you're already doubling the size of pixels, and therefore making any apparent difference between two pixels that much larger.
