Default lenses for canon EOS60D

Hey guys, I'm planning to buy a new DSLR which is Canon eos60D, but I'm confused with the choices of the lenses that I wanna buy. Basically, i like to take wide angle pictures. some of my friends recommended me EF-S 10-22mm and some of the others recommended me EF 17-40mm L series. Can you guys recommend me some good lens with a quite reasonable price ? (because I don't have too much money to afford expensive lens ) Thanks

Those are different lenses for different views. If you really like to shoot wide to ultra wide, then the 10-22 is a great lens. I love mine. The 17-40 is a good buy for a wide to normal zoom range. Both are high quality lenses.

I had the EF 17-40 f4 L for about 6 months, but sold it and bought the EF-S 17-55 f2.8 for the greater range and faster aperture. I have no intention of going to full frame, so the 17-40 lens wasn't necessary, and I wasn't as happy with the IQ as I am with the 17-55.

Yeah, get the 10-22 if you want to do wide angle work. The 10-22 is designed as an ultrawide-zoom for an APS-C camera (like the Rebel or 60D), the 17-40 and 16-35 are designed as ultrawide-zooms for full-frame cameras (like the 5D and 1D series).
