Default Canon D450 or D1000?

My aunt is wanting my advice on what camera to buy but I'm not real good with knowing so I was wondering what you'll thought and if you had any advice on which one is better?

Thank you!

Going that route I would actually recommend the 1100D/T3 as it's essentially the same sensor as the 450D but with an updated processor and added features like shooting video. The 1000D was the bare-bone entry level DSLR released about the same time as the 450D if I recall correctly, it wouldn't be my first choice.

If the pricing is similar, I'd say go for the new one.

Okay, so she is saying that she would like to stay under $300 and she wants a pretty big LCD screen and high MP. She doesn't care if it is used either.

Do you have any ideas on what would be a good one?

As per my opinion Canon 450D is best model from canon. It features a CMOS sensor with 12 Megapixels, offering two million photosensitive elements more than the Canon D1000. You can also check Canon PowerShot D10. It is the first waterproof digital compact in its line. The camera has 12.1 megapixel sensor with 3x optical zoom and LCD which measures at 2.5 inches.

She said she doesn't care to go a little over 300.

What do you'll think of the XTi? I personally have one and I like it but what's your opinion?

Thank you!
I had the 450D for 4 years (before upgrading to the 7D). Never had a problem with it. It shot the same as the 1000D (a few of my friends had that). I'd say go with the cheaper one
