Default Canon 7D wide lens help

I am purchasing a 7D body in a couple months. Also I am undecided which wide angle lens I should get. Im still an amateur photographer and have had a Nikon D60 and currently using a Nikon D3100. I have done may portrait sessions and 3 weddings this year with just the kit lens and a 50mm. They came out beautiful. Ive been getting more jobs and I would like to have good equipment in by budget. I dont want to spend more than $700 on a wide angle lens. I need some advice on the Tokina AT-X 116 PRO DX 11-16mm and the Tamron AF 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5 SP Di II LD Aspherical (IF). Im new to Canon so any help would be great

Tanya, I own the Tokina 11-16, and I'd highly recommend it. It's a very solid built lens, extremely sharp and well rated with a plus of being a constant F/2.8 which is really great for those dark interior church shots. The only thing the Tamron gives you is a little more zoom range. The Tokina at 11-16 is a natural combo along with your already owned 18-55.

I chose the Canon 10-22mm. I think it's a fun lens to shoot with. The one thing you can't do is use the pop up flash if you have the hood lens on. It will cast a big shadow. I believe I paid around $600 for it used.

I just got the EF-S 10-22 and I love it already. Great for wide angle on a crop body like the 7D. Here's a shot I took in my barber shop today just trying a few shots to begin to learn the lens. It's been cropped and resized for this site. The native image is pin sharp:

well "friend" f/2.8 constant is the tie breaker as far as I'm concerned. As I said, church interiors can be pretty dark

check out the edge distortion on the girl's hand and arm for both lenses...still looks better with the Tokina. Take note of the shape of the ball on both
