Default used price on t3i and 60d

Hi guys.
I'm planning to buy either 60d or t3i and in case I might want to upgrade later on I would like to ask which body will have better price when it comes time to sell it.
in my personal opinion 60d might depreciate less than t3i since t3i is a rebel series and comes with model more often. so please tell me what you guys think!
thanks in advance!

One thing that you need to survey is the battery grip. Does that model have AA battery powered battery grip? My D5100 doesn't and that makes the cost high..

It only does if you want a battery grip.

Canon makes their own grips for their rebel models: If I remember correctly they do work with AA batteries.

Yes, Canon does make a battery grip for the T3i that uses AA batteries as well. Also, there are a few good third party ones.

In looking at Ebay I checked out the t2i - looks like used models are between $300-500 so it's really a pretty broad range. It'll depend on the wear and tare you put on it as well - so if you're not a person that drops things then maybe you'll be Ok. Looking at the 60d and other similar models on Ebay it does look like they hold up a little better but it really all depends on what you're planning to do, what your needs are now, and when those needs will change.

As far as depreciation, they'll both depreciate to a certain degree. While technically the T2i isn't the current Rebel model it's actually not depreciated significantly since the T3i is mostly a minor revision of the T2i. Plus both cameras come with a lot of features, as far as the internals go the T3i actually has a lot of features present on the 60D, same swivel screen, remote flash control in the pop up, similar sensor and processor...

Honestly, go out to a shop and compare the models in hand. See what control style and handling approach you prefer. the 2 dial set up may make or break it for you. If you want the higher FPS for sports or something you may also go for the 60D. I have a personal dislike over one of the major body features of the 60D, the mode dial has a lock button in the middle that must be depressed before you can rotate it. Some people like this feature, I would absolutely despise it. I've never once flipped the mode on my dial unintentionally and I don't want to have to use three fingers to switch modes TYVM.

So anyway, yeah, the 60D wouldn't be my first choice, but I wouldn't have known that had I not played around with it in hand.
