I recently bought a t3i, and I was wondering if it would be better to shut close the screen every time I shud it off, or if I should leave the screen facing outwards. I started closing it every time I turned it off in fear of scratching it, but I realize it may be bad for the hinge to swivel it around so frequently.
Thanks.

I have a Nikon D5000 that has a movable LCD screen - my husband put a screen protector on it for me to prevent scratches and I leave it open all the time now. Whenever he uses the camera he closes it when he's finished, but I prefer it to be ready to go when I'm ready to shoot

I usually flip mine closed when I'm not shooting.
"but I prefer it to be ready to go when I'm ready to shoot" Funny thing about this is that since I started with film cameras, I actually have to think about using the screen when I start shooting. I've actually had times where I've shot several images before I remembered that I could look at them after I release the shutter.
