My first digital camera (Kodak Easyshare ZD710) took a swim today, it's sitting in some rice now, but I'm already starting to look for it's replacement, which I have been wanting for some time. I know I want a Canon Rebel. I am just an amateur photographer and will never be more I am sure, but I love photography and love taking a great picture. A lot of my friends haven some form of this camera, and I love the photos the get from it so it's what I want.
But... when I go to look for a Rebel, especially a used one, I don't know how good it is etc.I found an ad on my local craigslist here.http://fairbanks.craigslist.org/pho/2578057948.html I don't know anything about what models are good so I'm looking for some tips! Thanks! Last edited by HappyWifey; 09-12-2011 at 01:47 AM. |

The Nikon 3100 or Canon equivilent to an introductory SLR is good. you can get them for fairly cheap. or even the older Nikon D3000 for just a few hundred. about as much as you would spend on a new point n shoot.

If you desperately need to know the different dRebel models, I'd suggest looking at this Wikipedia table. It shows the different tiers and generations and product names for the different markets. The dRebels are the bottom two rows.
Template:Canon DSLR cameras - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Dpreview's side-by-side comparison tool can help you compare specs, for a few of the most recent generations. I'd also recommend looking at the Canon online store for refurbs rather than going used if you can afford it. There's a 90-day warranty, the camera's been inspected by Canon service, and you pretty much know what you're getting.
