Default Shutter Count

How does one go about finding the shutter count on a refurbished or used camera?

Thanks for the help

3 ways:

Easiest: take a picture, upload it (unedited) to Check shutter count online - My Shutter Count.com
It will tell you the shuttercount.

Easy: upload a picture to flickr. There is an option to "view EXIF". Scroll 75% down and you will see "total number of shutters" or something like that.

Google and Download opanda EXIF viewer (free). You will be able to view EXIF just like with flickr.
