Has anyone ever bought and cameras off of ebay and did you have good results? I am looking for a Canon 50D and saw one on ebay. But how does one know for sure if the products is what it says without losing ones money or how does one know if the sell is legit?
Thanks for any info

Buying stuff on ebay is safer than it once was. But there is still risk involved. If you have the money, I'd spend the extra on buying it from a trusted dealer instead, but being someone that's usually on a tight budget myself, I can understand wanting to go the cheaper route. So putting aside the guaranteed warranty and satisfaction and everything you get from buying from a trusted dealer, here's what you need to look for when buying on ebay. Make sure the seller has a high rating. Personally, I never buy from somebody with under a 98% feedback rating. Also look at the feedback score, I never purchase anything from anybody below 1000, UNLESS their feedback rating is a solid 100%, then I'll consider it.
Those aren't going to Guarantee you a good product, but it does significantly minimize the risk if you're buying from somebody who has high ratings. A little bit about eBay: There's a lot of people on eBay that sell products as a small business. They'll get a business license and buy wholesale directly from manufacturers or other outlets and turn around and sell them online. Most of the time when buying from these eBay stores, the physical product is never in the hands of the person you're buying it from, they just handle overseeing that it's shipped to the right person. When dealing with businesses like this, a lot of times you'll be able to get those standard warranties that come from purchasing a camera from a well known retail location. So basically, my advice is to do a little research on who you're buying from and if you have any questions, don't be afraid to contact them. My 2 cents, David
