Default F1.8

Im not sure if this is the right place. Sorry if its wrong.

So i have a canon 1000D and if at ISO 800, F3.5, the shutter speed is around 15-25.
What could i possibly get at f1.8 (50mm)?
And if its extremes, at ISO 1600?

P.S. Count by 1/3 stop increments.
Thanks!

f/3.5 is 1 2/3 stops more. So if we assume 1/15th then you're talking 1/50th, if we assume 1/25th then you're talking 1/80th.

Bumping up to 1600 gives you an extra stop for each, so 1/100th and 1/160th.

Thanks for the answer! I couldn't count myself. Lol.
So, buying a 50mm for indoors would be good? Or should i not buy anything first? I think i've only gotten my camera for about a month.

It can be a great way to learn more about exposure and depth of field. In the Canon world it's cheap too.

It is good for low light, but not no light.
Shooting people at less than 1.50th is hard regardless of the F number on the lens

Speak for yourself. Ive done some decent shots at 1/20th at 50mm f/2 at ridiculous ISOs because I had to.
