Which Lens To Buy?

What would be the better buy: a new Canon 70-200 f/2.8 non IS; or a used, excellent condition, Canon 70-200 f/2.8 IS MKI? Price being about the same for both, I am wondering which would be a better buy. Is the MKI going to have the same image quality as the new non IS version? Is the IS that big of a deal to buy a used lens to get it cheaper?
