possible 7d upgrade and lense.

Hi,
Im looking to purchase the canon 7d and either the 50mm f1.8 or 50mm f1.4 lens. Currently I have the Xsi w/ standard lens and the 70-300 I plan on keeping the 70-300. I shoot mainly action photography wakeboarding snowboard, etc. Also landscapes and some macro stuff. I feel the 70-300 would stil be great to go with the 7d but trying to decide what else would be good to go with. I noticed with looking through flikr it seems like the f1.8 lens s alot sharper with more vibrant colors and the 1.4 is alot less. I notice in my current photos its really hard to get a nice sharp image.

My budget is about the 7d with standard lens and possibly one other lens 500$

If anyone has any feed back for what would be good would greatly help.

The 7D will be a good match for you as its got a fast autofocus system and a good FPS. the 50mm 1.8 is a great lens, but the 1.4 should be about equal in color and clarity, ive never used it though.

The reason that your having trouble with clarity on the 70-300 is because its not a very "good" lens. Its very versitile, but as is a problem with all superzooms, the versitility is gained at the cost of image quality.
