I have recently learned how to use Premier Elements 9 for video production - its a great little program!
I have used it for still photography but now I would like to try my hand at making videos. I would like to purchase a good quality digital camera that is not going to lots of money - as I am not sure this is a "for sure thing" I want to offer my clients. Any suggestions on what to start out with? D Last edited by photocanada; 05-11-2011 at 03:15 PM. |

What kind of work do you do? What do you need the camera to do for you? WHat about audio or lighting?
That's kinda like someone saying "I need a car. What do you suggest?". It could be any number of things: theres not enough information to go on.

I photograph families/children/teens and do sports photography.
I am thinking of doing movies for the sports photography end to sell to parents. I have done a couple slide show with stills for families and they really like it. Lighting isn't an issue because I am outside mostly in the afternoons with sports - I would like something that would pick up good audio without having to use an extra device (ie microphone on a boom). |

Doesn't really exist.
If you want to shoot sports, you're looking at something like a Canon H1 at a minimum, and you'll need a good shotgun (K6ish) with some serious wind protection. I've seen people shooting with XHA1s on monopods, but ...
