any input for a steady lens? I have a 50D what would be a good steady lens, my current kit lens only goes to 5.6 I would like something faster. any recommendations for a nice set up, I mostly do street photography.

depends on your budget.
Something for a walk-around lens you'd want a wide-zoom. Canon 24-105L is a great lens for that, but its an f4. Tamron makes 28-75mm f2.8 which may fit the bill. You may want to think about a monopod or a stablizer of some sort too. |

My EF 17-40 L f4 is a reasonably good street lens. Guess in the end it depends on how much you want to spend, how fast it needs to be, and how much zoom you need. I like the wider field with the 17mm wide end, which makes it effectively 27.1 on my 500d, but it still zooms out to an effective 64mm. And the "L" glass is definitely nice.
