Default T2i Help

Hi there,

I am VERY new to photography and I just bought myself a canon T2i. I have been reading manuals, books, and lots of information on this site (I love it), but how do I resize my image so I can post it on a thread on here??? I have been trying to use the zoom browser software to reduce the quality, but it is going slow and is not getting low enough to post on the assigment website.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks!!

There's a free program called PixResizer...should be able to google and find it. It will do individual files, or complete folders, and you can adjust the size of the files to be saved.

If you have Photoshop, you can create an Action and quickly format batches at a time.

Thanks so much! I downloaded this program and it is very easy to use.

PS - I don't have photoshop... might be a program I invest in, in the future

If you still want a layer based editing software, but without the PS price. You can download Gimp for free, and Picasa for an organizer/minor editor. PS has some really awesome advanced features, but Gimp will work until you can get PS.

The easiest way is to open a free Flicr account, upload your pics there and when you want to post here click on the pic you want to post, then click on actions and choose view all sizes, them choose medium size and copy the url from the pics properties and voila! Simple eh?, well not when you try to write it. The Flickr accopunt is nice as it allows you storage and makes it easy for people to see ypur pics.

Just thought I would add a comment about Picasa, I used it for a month before getting it off my computer. although it seemed easy for organizing photos when they were edited in Picasa the program would move them to another spot and I wouldn't always remember where that was and it would update the original date of the photo, moving it to another location. My Mum "lost" some photos this way that thankfully dh was able to find for her. Picasa had put them in a completely different folder in another drive on her computer. Because she had edited the photos without changing the photo's name we did a search for the missing photo number between 2 that she did have. she was so frustrated because the one day she had sat for several hours going through her close to 2000 photos that she took while in Africa to do the edits she wanted, and of course all her best shots that she had edited (she was just cropping them and making minor lighting tweaks) seemed GONE!!! She was really upset and I thankfully still had her Africa photos on my computer, but my hubby was able to find them with the edits on her computer anyway... After that happened she had my hubby get rid of picasa... Maybe if it isn't used as an editing program this wouldn't be an issue.
