Default Canon 60D

I am looking at moving up from my XSi to the 60D and was curious as to whether anyone has been using one and what their feedback is on it (I know reviews have been favorable).

The only concern I have is how well the swing screen in the back holds up. I am not looking at the camera for video...strictly photos, however the 7D is a little more than I would like to spend right now.

I shoot as a hobby, mostly sports, (some landscape and miscellaneous), however at some point would like to get to a point where my stuff might be good enough to sell.

I own a Canon 70-200m f2.8 IS and the Canon 100-400m f4.0 IS, as well as the two kit lenses that came with the XSi.

Thanks for any feedback!

You don't own a 100-400 f/4 IS because it doesnt exist. There is however a 100-400 f/4.5-5.6 IS. Big difference.

THe 60D uses the same sensor as the 7D: it has a different sensor and, obviously, different body and buffer components. For sports, though, the better AF and faster continuous shooting rate of the 7D would be beneficial, as would the rougher-tougher body for when you invariably get hit with something.

I have a 60D and enjoyed using it. I did recently upgrade to the 5D Mark II, though, as I wanted the full sensor. I did, though, have a gripe when it came to the swivel screen. Although Canon seems to be using this as a selling point, I found it quite annoying and I much prefer the normal screen on the Mark II. But that is just a personal preference and not a huge thing when it comes to actual photography. Otherwise I was happy with the images it produced. :-)

thanks very much

I don't see myself using the swivel screen as such....just setting it into the normal screen position when using the camera.

My sense is always, "the more moving parts, the more opportunity for breakage or something to go wrong".
