Uh... what do you want to adapt?
If you're talking about older manual focus lenses in other mount systems, the six SLR mount systems that you can easily adapt with simple rings (i.e., no glass elements) to Canon EOS are:
However. With the 5D and 5D Mark II, not all lenses in those mount systems can be used due to mirror clearance issues. Nikon F, M42, and Oly OM are usually trouble-free, but Leica-R and C/Y lenses can sometimes stick back into the camera body enough to either not mount, or to hit the mirror. So, do your research before purchasing. The old Canon FD/FL and Minolta MC/MD mounts are problematic, and any adapters will require glass to act as tcs if you want to focus to infinity. With these lenses, you typically need to replace the lens mount if you want to have them focus to infinity without glass elements in the adapter. One good example of this is the Minolta Rokkor 58/1.2. If you want to use that lens on Canon, then you'll need to use the Leitax kit.

You need to upgrade you glass.
On both types of lenses, the focal plane is the same distance from the lens mount. EF-S lenses protrude more deeply into the camera body, which not only creates a smaller area of image projected onto the sensor, but also will get in the way of a full frame camera's mirror. If you create an adapter to pull the lens far enough away from the sensor, you'd have a hard time getting anything to focus. |
