Default Need advice for T1i flash, and a wireless shutter remote

I've visited this site before for help, and I think I need it again, lol. I have a cheap external flash that works well as a slave, and a more an off-brand $100 flash that works well, but doesn't completely sync all its functions (zoom, f/stop, power) with the Canon's sync options. I looked into speedlite's. , but don't know what's good for my T1i.
Also, I'm having problems looking for a good wireless shutter remote. I've looked around and seen several, but again, I don't know what will work well with a T1i, or if all the fancy buttons and controls would work.
--a smaller thing that I'm just interested in is wireless triggers for flashes too, but is not something I'm buying soon.
Any links would be very appreciated, (particularly eBay links!), both cheap links and recommended links would be welcomed.

Thanks in advance!

Hate to say it, but if you want on-camera function, best is to just go with Canon. 580EXII or 430EXII, or a used 430EX, 550EX, or 580EX. But you probably already knew this.

If you have to go cheap-cheap-cheap, then Yongnuo has a few eTTL flashes you may want to look into. Just be aware that while they warranty for a year, they don't actually check whether or not they've got bad copies at the factory, and it's not uncommon for folks to have to send for replacement units. And yongnuo is in Hong Kong and only sells through eBay.

As for your flash trigger/remote issue, Yongnuo RF-602s. It'll do both. Just be aware that these cheap radio triggers do not communicate any eTTL functionality. All you get is the flash synch signal: no high-speed sync, no remote power-level setting, no eTTL. Just "fire" and that's it.

Thanks for the reply!
More expensive brand-names arn't a problem, I just didn't know what I was doing, and didn't know if there was something cheaper that is still good.
I'd like a wireless remote that has a few functions, and is still dependable, which is why I don't want to go out and get a trigger, just to have the functions not work with the T1i.

I own the Yongnuo RF-602s, and they are great, I never had any issues and they are well worth the cost. I have not tried them as a wireless trigger, because I did not purchase the cable. Also becare with them they are not built as a tank and I dropped 1 piece and drop a small part broke off it, but it did not affect the functionality of the device.

Thanks again for the response.
Do you use them as a shutter trigger also, or just as a flash trigger? Flash triggers are just a side thing for me right now, while wireless shutter remotes are the priority.

Huh. I didn't know you could buy them without the shutter cable.

I use them as both on a 50D. Works just fine. I have two transmitters and four receivers. One Tx/Rx set is kept on Channel F (1111), while the other Tx/Rx units are set to Channel C (1100), so I can remotely trip both the shutter and the flashes.

I really wish, though, that Canon still made the RC-1. That was the best remote for a dRebel ever, even if it was an infrared one. The best part about the RC-1 was that it rode along on your camera strap, so you never left it behind when you needed it. With the RF-602s, much as I like them, I have to remember to pack them along.

I love that I can use my RC-1 again with my 5D Mark II.

i have the Canon 7d and I did not look around for the cable that connects to the receiver so I can use if for a remote shutter. I currently only use it for a trigger for my lights. I bought s cheapy set from Adorama and they worked great for the first 3 events, then I had major problems right in the middle of a paid event. Fortunately for me I had my PC cable handy, the next day I purchase the RF-602 off ebay. I never had one missed shot, and the work well even from a a far distance.
