Question getting less red with my 1000D

I bought a canon eos 1000D for work. It's to take reference pictures of food (ready meals). For this purpose, the colours need to be exactly right and I don't have the time for postprocessing. I have a tiny studio tent thingy and 2 daylightlamps, i manually set the WB. i tried all different metering settings but the pictures all seem to be a bit redder than they should.
is there a setting with which i can reduce the redness by a few points?

Try custom white balancing. Put a white piece of paper where the meal is going to go. Take a picture of it under the lighting you're going to use, and fill the frame with the piece of paper. Then use that as your custom white balance. You can also use white balance shift (p.93 of your manual), and shift more into the Blue/Green quadrant.
