Hi everyone, I have just bought this great camera and while exploring its options I stumbled upon this issue or maybe not. I don't know if it's normal or firmware related. Namely, when I enable control over HDMI option and then immediately turn off and on my camera, the lcd screen will not turn on although I can see the info in the viewfinder. When I take a shot, lcd info is back to normal. This happens sometimes, not always but only when control over HDMI is enabled. When disabled, everything is ok. My firmware version is 1.0.8 and I have Japanese version, Eos kiss x4. Does your camera behave the same way or not?
Cheers! Srdjan |

What does the "control over HDMI" option do?

I think it allows you to control your camera (like pictures playback) via the remote of your hdmi screen, when camera is connected to hdmi screen. Not that I need this option, just accidentaly discovered this "bug" so just want to know if it's normal behaviour or firmware bug.

My guess is this is normal behavior: the display information is being sent down the HDMI connection, rather than to your LCD. You're basically just choosing the output monitor for the camera.
--- Yup. Check your manual, p.167: Quote:
