Default What is causing this? Visible image error

Hi,

I have a 7D and just a couple weeks ago, every so often, it started doing this to images:

I've seen it happen twice now - the first time it happened to about 6 or 8 images in a row and then got better on its own. The second time the image above was the only image.

Anyone else had this happen? What causes it, and what's the cure?

Memory card. Get a new one. If this one IS new, then return it.

What brand/size/class is it?

Thanks, Os! Well at least it's just that and not something in the camera that would require it to be serviced.

I bought this memory card in December so it's fairly new. It's a Sandisk 32GB Extreme III and I got it from B&H... it doesn't appear to be listed in their inventory anymore so I hope they'll exchange it for something... hmm...

B&H is quite good at taking care of this sort of thing. I'll venture to guess they'll have no problem doing the right thing.

Actually B&H directed me to the manufacturer and said they would only accept a return or take an exchange if it were within a few days of the initial purchase that it went bad. I'm pretty sure SanDisk will cover this little puppy, so that's good.

And from B&H's site:

"All items sold by B&H are warranted solely by the manufacturer/distributor, except "direct import" a/k/a IMP items."
