I'm shooting with a 450D. My problem is related to getting the flash to turn off.
As far as I know, the only way to prevent to flash from firing when the camera thinks it's needed is to turn the selector on top to the "no flash" mode. But I'm shooting in AV mode so I need the selector turned to AV, not "no flash." Am I missing something here? |

For me when shooting in the manual modes (P, Tv, Av, M) the camera won't pop up the built in flash automatically. If I want to use the flash in those modes I need to push the button on the front left top side with the flash symbol to pop the flash up. Default for those modes is that you don't want to use the flash.

I would check the options menu inside the camera as any manual mode (Av,Tv, M, P) should never trigger the pop up flash. I had the xsi for a year and never had any problems like that.

I`ve found the solution to the problem,it was the switch-pin that was kept down as if there was a external flash mounted. How to Repair a Canon 20D flash hot shoe - by Conrad Erb, Philadelphia Wedding Pho tographer Hope to be helpful gr: KISS XII
